Requirements:
The candidate for the position should:
- hold a doctoral degree in biological sciences in the discipline of biology or ecology; the degree should be obtained in the years 2013–2020;
- have scientific achievements in the field of molecular biology, documented in original scientific papers in which the Candidate is the first or corresponding author;
- experience in molecular research;
- advanced knowledge of phylogenetic and phylogeographic methods and the ability to apply them in oceanobiological research;
- ability to work in team and independently perform experimental work (designing experiments, analyzing the results, etc.)
- very good communication in English (spoken and written).
Description of the tasks
Scientific work at implementation of the project: BIOdiversity PAtternS and Scale: the case of peracarid Crustacea from south-eastern Australia (BIOPASS)
- DNA extraction and PCR reaction based on preserved material (peracarid crustaceans);
- DNA sequencing (both Sangerian, NGS, ddRAD);
- implementation of phylogenetic and phylogeographic analyzes;
- implementation of basic ecological analyzes.
The conditions of employment:
- A candidate needs to meet the conditions specified in Art. 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668, as amended);
- A candidate should obtain a doctoral degree not earlier than 7 years before the year of employment in the project;
- A candidate employed a post-doc position in the project may not receive any other remuneration from the funds awarded under NCN calls or be employed under another employment contract.
