Who are we looking for
DESCRIPTION:
The work will consist of: performing research in the field of microbiology, cancer biology, immunology and molecular biology, analyzing the obtained results under the supervision of independent workers, and preparing documentation of completed tasks, teaching students of microbiology, biotechnology, digital biology and biomedicine, biology (specialization in genetics), as well as disseminating science.
REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate should meet the following criteria and have:
- doctorate in biological sciences, recognized in Poland, specializ ation in microbiology, genetics, immunology, molecular biology or biotechnology;
- experience in planning and conducting basic and advanced research in microbiology, cell biology and molecular biology;
- experience in experimental work with bacteria (including anaerobic bacteria) and human cell lines (knowledge of sterile working principles, culture methods, clinical material preparation, microorganism isolation, nucleic acid isolation, knowledge of light/fluorescence microscopy techniques, flow cytometry);
- experience in conducting biological activity analyses of compounds that could form the basis for the development of new antimicrobial and anticancer drugs;
- ability to perform statistical analyses of the obtained results using specialized software;
- knowledge of issues related to microbial pathogenicity mechanisms, host immune response, microbial genetics, NGS sequencing data analysis;
- documented publication activity in the field of specialization (including at least 3 publications from the JCR list, ≥100 points from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education) and experience in carrying out research tasks in scientific and/or commercial projects as a contractor;
- completed foreign research internship (at least 1 month) at a scientific unit with a reputation documented by publications;
- documented active participation in national and international conferences;
- organizational skills;
- fluent spoken and written Polish (including knowledge of specialist terminology in the fields of microbiology, immunology, and molecular biology);
- good knowledge of English and documented ability to write scientific texts in English in the fields of microbiology, immunology, and molecular biology;
- proficiency in both typical office software and specialized programs for imaging, documentation, and analysis of biological material;
- ability to work in a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- participation in scientific research conducted at the Department;
- preparation of scientific publications, patent applications, and acquisition of funds for scientific research by applying for national or international competitions;
- conducting specialized classes (in microbiology, genetics, bioinformatics) in Polish and English;
- supervising bachelor's theses and supervising the experimental part of master's theses;
- developing teaching materials for classes;
- timely preparation of documentation on the course of study required of academic teachers and conducting course assessments;
- participating in the development and updating of education programs and teaching plans;
- continuous and systematic improvement of qualifications, including obtaining further academic degrees and titles, in accordance with the guidelines and plan approved by the Head of the Department;
- active participation in scientific conferences, activities aimed at disseminating and popularizing knowledge;
- implementation of international mobility for research purposes;
- conscientious performance of assigned tasks and compliance with work-related instructions from super v i s ors, unless they are contrary to the law.
