We are inviting applications from candidates who meet the following criteria:
- have a doctoral degree in social sciences; the fact of having obtained a doctoral degree within the last 7 years will be an additional advantage;
- represent the field of social sciences in the discipline of sociology;
- be ready to take up employment in the University of Lodz as the basic place of work;
- have experience in carrying out an international research project or have experience as a leader or a team member of a national research project financed from external funds (e.g. Polish National Science Centre, Polish National Centre for Research and Development, etc.);
- have expert knowledge in the field of social inequalities, social stratification, and social mobility, documented by publications of at least 40 points according to the list published by the Polish Ministry of Education and Science;
- have knowledge of advanced methods of quantitative data analysis, e.g. panel regression, survival analysis, multilevel regression, structural equations, geometrical data analysis (correspondence analysis), etc., documented by publications for at least 40 points according to the list published by the Polish Ministry of Education and Science;
- have experience in working with cross-sectional and/or panel data from surveys as well as administrative records;
- have experience in teaching at university level;
- are fluent in Polish at the level which allows teaching;
- are fluent in English at the level that allows: to write and publish peer-reviewed scientific texts, to participate in international scientific exchange, e.g., to participate in international conferences, and to teach students enrolled in mobility programmes (at least C1 level);
- knowledge of another foreign language will be an additional advantage;
- the applicants who intend to make a Habilitation in sociology within a few years after being employed at the University of Lodz will be strongly preferred;
