DESCRIPTION:

The Department conducts research in the field of plant’s ecophysiology, physiology, biochemistry and biotechnology, at all levels of their organization (physiological, cytological, biochemical tests, molecular biology of plants). We conduct adequate academic classes in 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree studies in the following fields: Biology, Biotechnology, Biomonitoring and ecological biotechnologies and also EcoCity (sustainable urban development).

REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate should meet the following criteria and have:

- doctoral diploma in biological or related sciences recognized in Poland (or a relevant certificate of awarding a doctoral degree);

- documented scientific achievements in the field of biology, in the form of publications in recognized international journals; at least 300 MEiN points for publications ≥ 100 MEiN points., including in at least one publication ≥ 100 MEiN points as the first author and/or corresponding author;

- willingness to participate in research on the regulation of plant growth and development, resistance and adaptation to stress conditions, carried out at various levels of organization with the use of modern methods of experimental biology. Ability to use the techniques listed below will be an advantages: tissue and cell culture techniques (in vitro cultures), biochemical methods for plant material analysis (e.g. enzymatic tests, histochemistry, HPLC analyses), skills in molecular biology techniques;

- good command of spoken and written English;

- due to the

didactic obligation, the Candidate is expected to have basic knowledge in

the area of: physiology, biochemistry and plant biotechnology, as well as

readiness to conduct laboratory classes and supervise diploma theses;

- due to the

teaching and administrative duties at the Department, a foreign Candidate

must be fluent in Polish, both in writing and in speech;

- experience in the

implementation of national and/or international projects and a documented

scientific internship abroad will be an advantage.

The Candidate is expected to be professional, committed, creative, and able

to work in a team.

RESEARCH DUTIES

- conducting and participating

in scientific research and development work;

- sourcing funds for scientific

research by applying for grants in national or international competitions;

- disseminating the results of

scientific or development research by publishing them in the most prestigious

scientific journals from the Journal Citation Reports list;

- participation in the commercialization of

research results (patents, protection rights, implementations);

- implementation of

international mobility for research purposes;

- improving one's professional

qualifications, including in order to obtain further academic degrees and

scientific title;

- fulfilling the above duties

and other duties assigned by the direct superior, consistent with the strategy

of the University and the Faculty.

TEACHING

RESPONSIBILITIES

- conducting teaching classes

carried out as part of an employment contract on an annual basis, specified by

the Senate, for full-time, part-time and postgraduate studies;

- participation in developing

and updating educational programs and teaching plans;

- developing teaching materials

for classes;

- conducting and reviewing

diploma theses;

- improving one's own

professional qualifications in the field of teaching activities;

- care for high quality of

education and compliance of teaching work with the principles of the internal

education quality assurance system;

- performing other teaching

duties assigned by the direct superior.
