DESCRIPTION:

Recruitment to the Department of Oncobiology and Epigenetics at the University of Lodz as an Assistant Professor in the research staff group. The position involves research using the infrastructure available in the Department, as well as active participation in the acquisition and implementation of scientific projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate should meet the following criteria and have:

- PhD in Biology or related disciplines, recognized in Poland;

- is fluent in Polish, both spoken and written;

- is fluent in English, both spoken and written;

- significant publication record - a minimum of 10 articles published in JCR journals with at least 100 Ministry of Education and Science points is required.

- a research residency of at least three months in a recognized team within the three years prior to the date of application. Alternatively, an equivalent stay implemented during an earlier period is acceptable if the results are documented by a scientific publication that appeared within the three years prior to the date of application;

- proficiency in planning and applying laboratory techniques related to DNA and RNA manipulation;

- experience in planning and conducting microbial cultures and animal cell cultures;

- well-documented ability to plan, conduct and analyze experiments based on the use of a scanning laser confocal microscope together with the application of techniques based on fluorescence lifetime imaging;

- experience in preparing animal and plant tissue sections for microscopic analysis; proficiency in histological and immunohistochemical staining.

ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES:

Experience of working in large scientific projects. Experience of working with laboratory animals. A solid approach to the tasks assigned and ability to work in a team (good teamwork).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate for the position will fulfill duties in accordance with the strategy of the University and the Department.

The candidate will conduct and participate in scientific research and development work:

- fulfilling duties in accordance with the strategy of the University and the Department,

- planning and performing experiments, analysis of data, preparing manuscripts, dissemination of the results in the most prestigious scientific journals from the Journal Citation Reports list.

- conducting and participating in scientific research and development work,

- obtaining funds for scientific research by applying in competitions,

- implementation of international mobility for research purposes,

- organizing promotional and presentation actions for the benefit of the University and participation in them.
