DESCRIPTION:
Recruitment to the Department of Oncobiology and Epigenetics at the University of Lodz as an Assistant Professor in the research and teaching staff group. The position entails conducting research on the biology of cancer cells and vascular endothelial cells, specifically in the context of cancer angiogenesis, while considering epigenetic regulation mechanisms. The position requires active participation in acquiring and implementing scientific projects. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching classes and supervising students.
REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate should meet the following criteria:
- a PhD degree in biological sciences or related fields recognized in Poland; obtained
up to a maximum of 5 years before the competition decision, - very good communication abilities in Polish and English language (both spoken and written),
- significant scientific record documented by authoring publications in leading scientific journals from the JCR list (minimum 5 publications in the range of 100-200 Ministry of Science and Higher Education points in the last 5 years, including at least one publication in a journal with an Impact Factor >10 or 200 Ministry of Science and Higher Education points),
- documented experience in working on scientific projects; documented submission of own research project reaching at least the second stage of the evaluation,
- confirmed work on isolation/processing of human-derived material (isolated cells, tissues)
and experience in planning and conducting microbiological cultures as well as animal cell cultures, - ability to use molecular biology methods (RNA isolation and integrity assessment, reverse transcription, real-time RT-PCR) and immunodetection techniques (immunofluorescence staining, immunoprecipitation, Western blotting),
- proficiency in planning and applying laboratory techniques related to gene expression manipulation,
- ability to analyse and interpret results, use statistical tools, experience in scientific work,
and presenting results, - documented experience in teaching molecular biology/cell biology.
ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES:
Experience of working in scientific projects. A solid approach to the tasks assigned and ability to work
in a team (good teamwork).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate for the position will fulfill duties in accordance with the strategy of the University
and the Department.
The candidate will conduct and participate in scientific research and development work:
fulfilling duties in accordance with the strategy of the University and the Department,
planning and performing experiments, analysis of data, preparing manuscripts, dissemination
of the results in the most prestigious scientific journals from the Journal Citation Reports list,
conducting and participating in scientific research and development work,
obtaining funds for scientific research by applying in competitions,
implementation of international mobility for research purposes,
organizing promotional and presentation actions for the benefit of the University and participation in them,
conducting teaching classes with students.
