DESCRIPTION :
Recruitment to the Department of Oncobiology and Epigenetics at the University of Lodz as an Assistant Professor in the research and teaching staff group. The position involves conducting research the biology
of tumors field and the epigenetic mechanisms regulating metabolism, primarily using mammalian cell models under conditions of radiation-induced oxidative stress. This position will require active participation in acquiring and implementing scientific projects. Additionally, the employed individual will be responsible for conducting teaching classes and supervising students
REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate should meet the following criteria and have:
- PhD in Biology or related disciplines, recognized in Poland,
- is fluent in Polish and English, both spoken and written,
- scientific experience supported by publications from the JCR database on the subject of research conducted at the Department, in at least two of which he/she should be the first and/or corresponding author,
- significant publication record, a minimum of 5 articles published in JCR journals with at least 100 Ministry of Education and Science points is required,
- a research residency of at least 1 month in a recognized team within the three years prior to the date of application,
- proficiency in planning and applying laboratory techniques related to DNA and RNA manipulation,
- experience in planning and conducting microbial cultures and animal cell cultures,
- well-documented ability to plan, conduct and analyze experiments based on the use of RNA interference, Western Blotting, quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR),
- experience in preparing animal tissue for further genetic and proteomic analyses,
- documented experience in teaching molecular biology/cell biology,
- knowledge of radiobiology and epigenetic mechanisms.
ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES:
Experience of working in scientific projects. A solid approach to the tasks assigned and ability to work in a team (good teamwork).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate for the position will fulfill duties in accordance with the strategy of the University
and the Department.
The candidate will conduct and participate in scientific research and development work:
- fulfilling duties in accordance with the strategy of the University and the Department,
- planning and performing experiments, analysis of data, preparing manuscripts, dissemination of the results in the most prestigious scientific journals from the Journal Citation Reports list,
- conducting and participating in scientific research and development work,
- obtaining funds for scientific research by applying in competitions,
- implementation of international mobility for research purposes,
- organizing promotional and presentation actions for the benefit of the University and participation in them,
- conducting teaching classes with students.
