Description:

The candidate for the above-mentioned position should meet the requirements of Articles 113, 116 of the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on higher education and science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742),

An applicant should meet the following requirements:

 -Completed PhD studies with being awarded a doctoral degree in the field of social studies ,

 - Represent the discipline of political science and public administration ,

 -Ready to take up employment at the University of Lodz as the primary place of employment,

 -Knowledge of a good command of Polish language and English language allowing a candidate to conduct classes in both languages is required,

 -The academic interests of a candidate should focus on the issues of East Asia with particular emphasis on People's Republic of China with particular focus to foreign policy and Chinese theory of international relations,

 -High scientific activity, including publications concerning international relations (East Asia, People's Republic of China with particular focus to foreign policy and Chinese theory of international relations), the policy of counties in the region and theory of international relations,

 -Have experience in organising scientific conferences, including the international ones,

 -Organizational experience in the area of different types of academic activities, work with students, popularization of knowledge about contemporary international relations;

 -Experience in conducting didactic classes in the area of Asian studies and international relations on university level, knowledge of the latest teaching methods and techniques, including remote teaching (e-learning) or organization of didactic workshops,

 -Have the ability to work in a team.

  

Responsibilities in the area of research;

• conducting scientific research in the declared scientific discipline
• submitting grant applications in departmental, university and non-university proceedings;
• submitting articles, chapters in monographs, or monographs for publication in periodicals and scientific publications;

Responsibilities in area of teaching duties:

• conducting teaching classes carried out as part of an employment relationship on an annual basis;
• timely preparation of study documentation for academic teachers;
• conducting examinations and tests, including diploma examinations;
• supervising students’ final and semester papers;
• conducting and reviewing diploma theses;
• developing teaching materials for classes;
• conducting consultations with students at a set number of hours;
• ensuring high quality of education and compliance of teaching work with the principles of the internal education quality assurance system;
• performing other teaching duties assigned by the direct superior;

Responsibilities in area of organizational duties:

• working on recruitment committees and examination committees in the university recruitment process;
• organizing promotional and presentation campaigns for the Faculty and University and participating in them;
• organizing conferences, symposia, seminars and other forms of academic activity;
• other organizational activities aimed at improving the functioning of the Faculty and University, improving the quality of education and scientific research;
• performing other organizational duties assigned by the direct superior.
