Who are we looking for

The candidate must hold at least a PhD in the Humanities in the discipline of Literary Studies, specifically in the field of Slavic Literature. They must be fluent in Polish and proficient in at least two other Slavic languages, as well as one conference language. Priority will be accorded to candidates whose scholarly achievements demonstrate humanities research covering religion, cultural anthropology, and literary studies.

The candidate is expected to have academic research experience at a higher education institution, enabling them to conduct in-depth research covering the region of Southeastern Europe and the Slavic world. The candidate should possess documented experience in:

  • Conducting research activities.

  • Participating in academic conferences (list required).

  • Implementing research projects of a documentary, editorial or traslation nature (e.g., preparation of critical apparatus for source materials).

Additionally, candidates must provide a complete list of academic and popular science publications.

Scope of Duties:

  • Conducting research within the discipline related to the scientific focus of the Ceraneum Centre;

  • Publishing scholarly works in international journals and academic publishing houses included in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) lists;

  • Participating in the Ceraneum Centre’s research projects, as well as initiating and preparing new grant applications;

  • Engaging in outreach initiatives and organizational tasks for the Ceraneum Centre, with a particular focus on activities related to the Centre’s library collection.


Legal Eligibility

The candidate must meet the non-criminal record requirement regarding offenses specified in Chapters XIX and XXV of the Polish Penal Code, in Art. 189a and Art. 207 of the Penal Code, and the Act of July 29, 2005, on Counteracting Drug Addiction, as well as equivalent prohibited acts defined under foreign law.
