DESCRIPTION:
The work will mainly involve conducting scientific activities, including both conceptual and laboratory work, as well as teaching activities. In addition, the work will involve taking actions for the Faculty and the University (promotion, organization of events, participation in committees).
REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate should meet the following criteria and have:
- doctoral diploma in biological or related sciences, recognized in Poland (or an appropriate certificate of awarding a doctoral degree);
- documented scientific achievements in the field of molecular and cellular biology in the form of publications in recognized international journals; at least 1000 points of Ministry of Education and Science for publications ≥ 100 points of Ministry of Education and Science, including in at least one publication worth 100 points of Ministry of Education and Science as the first author;
- very good knowledge of methods used in molecular biology, i.e. PCR, RT-PCR, western blot, spectrophotometric methods and electrophoretic methods, including the comet method in its various modifications;
- advanced skills in working with eukaryotic cells, including cell culture;
- basic knowledge in the area of biochemistry and molecular biology, cell biology and molecular genetics;
- fluent knowledge
of the Polish language, spoken and written;
- ability to
present research results in Polish and English;
- ability to
conduct teaching classes, including conducting teaching classes using
distance learning methods and techniques;
- ability to
supervise diploma theses;
- ability to
prepare teaching materials for classes;
- ability to write
scientific texts in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology,
- proficient
knowledge of both typical office software and statistical analysis;
- ability to work in a team, professionalism and
creativity;
- readiness to
obtain funds for scientific research by applying in competitions at the
national or international level;
- readiness to
implement international mobility for research purposes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Scope of responsibilities at work position,
including:
- conscientious and careful performance of assigned tasks and compliance with
superiors' work-related orders, unless they are contrary to the law;
- compliance
with legal provisions, in particular the provisions of the Act of July 20,
2018, Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2023, item
742);
- compliance with the provisions of internal law of the University of Lodz.
Scope of responsibility in the area of teaching
duties, including:
- conducting teaching classes carried out as part of an employment contract on an
annual basis, specified by the Senate, for full-time, part-time and
postgraduate studies, including conducting teaching classes using distance
learning methods and techniques;
- timely
preparation of study documentation for academic teachers;
- participation in developing and updating educational programs and teaching
plans;
- conducting examinations and tests, including diploma examinations;
- supervision of students' final and semester papers;
- conducting and reviewing diploma theses;
- developing teaching materials for classes.
Scope of responsibility in the area of research
responsibilities, including:
- conducting and participating in scientific research and development work;
- obtaining funds for scientific research by applying in competitions at national
or international level;
- disseminating the results of scientific or development research by publishing
the results in the most prestigious scientific journals from the Journal
Citation Reports list;
- active
participation in conferences and scientific seminars, financed as part of the
tasks carried out by the unit or on other principles adopted at the University.
Scope of responsibility in the area of
organizational responsibilities, including:
- work in
the university's collegial bodies and in faculty, senate and rector's
committees;
- work on
recruitment and examination committees in the university recruitment process;
- performing functions assigned by superiors, including: the role of a year tutor
or student group tutor, supervision of scientific clubs and research camps,
supervision of students' professional internships;
- other
organizational duties assigned by the direct superior.
