assistant professor in a group of research-teaching staff
DESCRIPTION:
The employee will be involved in research projects that combine the fields of behavioural and molecular ecology, population genetics, and immunology, all conducted on wild bird species. Teaching activities will include conducting classes related to ecology and genetics (population genetics), as well as biodiversity and its monitoring.
REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate should meet the following criteria and have:
- PhD academic degree in biological sciences recognized in Poland
- publication-supported scientific experience in the fields of molecular ecology, behavioural ecology, population genetics, immunology, and ornithology;
- publication output including: publications with ≥100 points of the Ministry of Education and Science in Poland that sum up to a total of ≥300 points, and at least one publication with ≥100 points as the first or corresponding author;
- experience in teaching or co-teaching (laboratory classes) in the fields of ecology and genetics;
- fluent knowledge of Polish and English language, spoken and written;
- good knowledge of advanced statistical tools, bioinformatics, and laboratory techniques;
- ability to work
with wild animals, including experience with invasive collection of
biological material from animals;
- documented
ability to apply for research funds (at least 1 grant application at the
national level)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate is expected to:
- fulfil all duties
in accordance with the strategy of the University and the Faculty;
- conduct teaching
classes and develop materials for teaching;
- provide high
quality of education;
- conduct and
participate in scientific and development research;
- obtain funds for
scientific research by applying in competitions at national or
international level;
- disseminate
results of scientific or development research by publishing in the most
prestigious scientific journals from the Journal Citation Reports list;
- implement
international mobility for research purposes;
- show initiative
in organization and improvement of own and team/unit work;
- fulfil other
organizational duties assigned by the direct superior.
