Description:

Holding a doctorate in the social sciences in the discipline of political science and a Master’s degree in political science or international relations.

The candidate should present abilities in carry out research in the field of the processes of democratization, including the social and political challenges, the human rights protection and electoral processes, with a particular emphasis on Latin American and Iberian Peninsula regions. These skills should be proven through scientific publications in peer reviewed journals and in the collective monographs and through papers presented during conferences (national and international as well).

Experience related to foreign scientific study and research stays at research, archival and higher education unitsis desirable, that were connected to carrying out scientific research in the field of democratization and its quality, political systems and political transition, especially related to Central American region.

Didactic experience at a university is required, including conducting classes in the field of democratization, political systems, foreign policy, as well as politics in Latin American region and human rights. It is expected that the candidate has experience in conducting classes in English and Spanish language.

Organizational skills related to in the preparation of scientific conferences are also expected, as well as the involvement in activities promoting science and education – within and outside of higher education institutions.

When examining the applications, the applicants, that are willing to work at the University of Lodz full time and as a primary place of employment, will be preferred.

• conducting classes in Polish and English language;

 

• conducting exams and completion assignments;

 

• reviewing of diploma theses;

 

• conducting and participating in scientific research;

 

• dissemination of research findings through publications of the results and active participation in conferences and scientific seminars;

 

• organizing conferences, symposia, seminars and other forms of academic activity;

 

• cooperation with students’ scientific organisations.
