Description:

The applicant for the aforementioned position shall

meet the requirements of Article 113 and Article 116 of the Law on Higher

Education and Science dated 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as

amended) and the Statute of the University of Lodz.

The candidate must meet the condition of having no

criminal record in respect of the offences defined in Chapters XIX and XXV of

the Penal Code, in Articles 189a and 207 of the Penal Code and in the Act of 29

July 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939)

and the corresponding offences defined in foreign law.

The candidate should have a PhD in the social sciences. We expect the

candidate to have knowledge in social sciences (preferably knowledge in

sociology) - in particular methodological and research knowledge, and knowledge

of selected contemporary social issues and problems (including social exclusion

of children and young people). Competence in data analysis and evaluation is

also desirable, as well as experience in conducting analyses/research and

preparing expert reports and developing strategies. We expect from the

candidate the ability to write scientific texts in the field of sociological

sciences (documented by publications for at least 70 points according to the

list of MEiN related to the above subject matter). The preferred scientific

discipline from the candidate is: sociological sciences.

The candidate should have teaching competence and experience (including:

in teaching by e-learning). He/she should also be certified as a trainer and

have experience in preparing and conducting trainings.

The candidate should be fluent in Polish and English. It is also

desirable that he/she has experience in teaching in Polish and willingness to

teach in English.

The candidate should have experience in carrying out international and

national scientific projects, in particular those obtained in the competition,

participating in them as a manager, member of a team, including carrying out

research (analysing data, preparing reports).

The work at the Department offers a chance to participate in the

implementation of NCN projects and international projects, as well as to teach

in the field of contemporary social problems, e.g. migration, labour market,

social policy, inequality and social exclusion. The offer furthermore includes

the possibility to participate in significant national and international

scientific conferences. The candidate should be characterised by readiness to

take up employment at the UŁ as the primary place of work.
