Candidates for the above-mentioned position should demonstrate impeccable ethical conduct and meet the requirements of Articles 113 and 116 of the Act on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (i.e., Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571) as well as the Statute of the University of Łódź.

Requirements for candidates are as follows:

1. They hold a master's degree in psychology;

2. They hold a doctoral degree in social sciences, in the discipline of psychology;

3. They demonstrate an interest in social psychology (an interest in social cognition and/or social psychology of emotions will be an additional advantage);

4. They have experience participating in research projects (experience as a principal investigator and/or in international cooperation will be an additional advantage);

5. They have research experience, as documented by publications in peer-reviewed international scientific journals (publications in top journals in the field of social psychology will be an additional advantage);

6. Have a command of English sufficient to write scientific texts (e.g., articles, grant applications) and communicate and present freely in this language;

7. They are familiar with advanced statistics and can use statistical programs (SPSS, AMOS, R, etc.);

8. They commit to taking up employment at the University of Lodz as their primary place of work and on a full-time basis;

9. Due to the need to conduct teaching classes in Polish, they are fluent in spoken and written Polish.

The candidate must meet the requirement of having no criminal record for offenses specified in Chapters XIX and XXV of the Penal Code, in Articles 189a and 207 of the Penal Code, and in the Act of July 29, 2005 on counteracting drug addiction (consolidated text, Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939), as well as for acts prohibited under foreign law corresponding to these offenses.

Responsibilities in the position

in the area of research responsibilities :

·  conducting and participating in scientific research and development work;

·  obtaining funds for scientific research by applying for grants;

·  disseminating the results of scientific or development research by publishing the results;

·  actively participating in scientific conferences and seminars, financed as part of the tasks carried out by the unit or on other terms adopted by the University;

·  participating in the commercialisation of research results (patents, protection rights, implementations);

·  training scientific staff and supervising their development;

·  improving one's own professional qualifications, including for the purpose of obtaining further academic degrees and titles.

in the area of teaching duties :

· conducting teaching activities carried out as part of the employment relationship on an annual basis, as determined by the Senate, in full-time, part-time and postgraduate studies, including conducting teaching activities using distance learning methods and techniques;

· timely preparation of documentation on the course of study required of academic teachers;

·  participating in the development and updating of education programmes and teaching plans;

·  conducting examinations and assessments, including diploma examinations;

·  supervising students' final and semester projects;

·  supervising and reviewing diploma theses;

·  developing teaching materials for classes;

·  conducting consultations with students for at least 2 hours per week;

·  improving one's professional qualifications in the field of teaching;

·  ensuring high quality of education and compliance of teaching work with the principles of the internal quality assurance system;

·  performing other teaching duties assigned by the immediate superior.

In the area of organisational duties :

·  working in the University's collegial bodies and in faculty, senate and rector's committees;

·  working in recruitment and examination committees;

·  organising and participating in promotional and presentation activities for the University;

·  organising conferences, symposia, seminars and other forms of academic activity;

·  performing duties assigned by superiors, including: acting as a mentor for first-year students or a student group, supervising research clubs and camps, supervising student internships;

·  other organisational activities aimed at improving the functioning of the University and the quality of education and scientific research;

·  other organisational duties assigned by the immediate superior.
