A person

applying for the position of assistant professor should:

• hold a

PhD in mathematical sciences in the discipline of computer science (or related

fields) or a PhD in applied mathematics;

• during

the last 5 years before the year of submitting the employment application and

in the year of its submission obtain scientific achievements in the discipline

of computer science or related fields, i.e. meet one of the following

conditions:

-

participation in the implementation of an international research program,

- receiving

a prestigious research scholarship,

- being an

author or co-author of a publication for at least 70 points.

- being a

manager, coordinator or participant of a research project;

• have

research interests in broadly understood machine learning;\

• know

English and Polish to the extent necessary to conduct classes in these

languages;

• have

experience in teaching of subjects related to computer science and having

obtained a high grade of the conducted classes expressed by students (polls,

competitions, etc.);

• meet at

least one of the following criteria for didactic excellence and criteria for

assessing competences in the area of shaping the program offer and improving

the quality of education:

➢ having achievements aimed at

didactic improvement,

➢ significant enrichment of didactic

resources through originally prepared courses or excerpts of courses and

auxiliary materials, e.g. in the form of e-learning classes and other modern

forms of teaching, etc., preparation of a textbook or script,

➢ activities contributing to the

improvement of the quality of education.

The

candidate must meet the condition of no criminal record for the crimes

specified in Chapter XIX and XXV of the Penal Code, in Article 189a and Article

207 of the Penal Code and in the Act of 29 July 2005 on Counteracting Drug

Addiction (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939) and for the prohibited acts

specified in foreign law corresponding to these crimes.

Responsibilities

of an assistant professor in the research and teaching staff at the Faculty of

Mathematics and Computer Science of University of Łódź:

• Conducting classes at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Łódź, including: preparing course documentation, conducting examinations and assessments, developing teaching materials, supervising and reviewing theses, and consulting with students.
• Conducting and participating in scientific research, including: publishing research results, actively participating in scientific conferences, educating scientific staff and supervising their development.
• Participating in research projects carried out at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Łódź and obtaining funds for scientific research by applying in competitions.
• Participation in organisational work for the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Łódź.
