PROFILE of CANDIDATES / REQUIERMENTS:
The candidate(s) should hold a doctoral degree (PhD DSc) in history and have a proven international academic record in the field of modern Jewish history and Jewish-Christian relations.
Candidates for the position of University Professor at the Philip Friedman Centre for Jewish Research should meet the following criteria:
- demonstrate authorship and co-authorship of publications in reputable international journals and discipline-leading publications published in a congressional language
- be an active member of international scientific organisations or associations
- have been involved in at least three international scientific research funded by an entity other than the employing institution within the last 10 years
- be the manager of at least two research projects in the last 5 years
- have a proven record of active participation in international conferences
- be proficient in English in order to be able to conduct seminars, research work, etc. in that language
- be proficient in Hebrew in order to conduct seminars, research work, etc. in that language
- experience in the use of digital humanities tools in research work.
Additional advantages of the candidate:
- experience in carrying out historical source editing projects
- membership of editorial boards or scientific boards of publishing series in international publishing houses
- outline or ready to submit a research project for national or international competitions
- knowledge of other modern languages in addition to English and Hebrew
- experience in using digital tools and online communication platforms to popularise research results.
Candidates must meet the conditions set out in the Polish Low of Higher Education of 20 July 2018 (Dz. U. z 2018 r., poz. 1668, as amended) and of the Statute of the University of Lodz (http://bip.uni.lodz.pl/index.php/page/szczegoly/statute-ul)
The Candidates are asked to submit the documents to the seat of the Faculty of Philosophy and History of the University of Lodz, 27a Kamińskiego Str., 90–210 Łódź, room 05 (ground floor), in person or by letter within the deadline 17.09.2024.
