Description:
Candidates should meet the requirements of Article 113, Article 116 of the Law of 20 July 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2022, item 574).
All applicants should have:
– PhD obtained from an institution other than UŁ (or from UŁ if he or she completed a post-doctoral research stay abroad of at least 10 months), not earlier than 7 years before the start of the employment [excluding sick or maternity leaves – see NCN regulations at www.ncn.gov.pl/aktualnosci/2020-12-14-stanowisko-rady-ncn-w-sprawie-zmiany-zasad-zatrudniania], in social sciences (preferably in political science, sociology or psychology), humanities (religious studies) or theology;
– documented research interests related to the project’s theme;
– elementary knowledge of social science methodology, especially qualitative research methods;
– the command of Polish as a mother tongue and of English, sufficient to understand scholarly literature in that language.
The ability to work in a team and experience with qualitative data analysis are a plus.
The job requirements of the successful candidate will be predominantly related to the research project Monastic politics: power and status in religious orders. Empirical study of Polish monasticism, under the supervision of prof. Maciej Potz and will include:
– data collection (interviews in monasteries, collection of written sources);
– data analysis, including computer-assisted qualititative data analysis (CAQDA),
– dissemination of the results (publications, conference papers etc.)
The job requires considerable engagement in field research – several weeks in the three-year duration of the project.
