DESCRIPTION:

The candidate is expected to have completed his/her PhD in the field of humanities, in the discipline linguistics (German philology). Fluency in German is expected at a near native level (C2).

The candidate is expected to teach classes in German and applied linguistics, phonetics and phonology, specialized and media communication (Medienlinguistik), general, specialized and certified translation (legal, business and economic) and audiovisual translation (including translation of musical and literary works), teaching German at the academic level, especially classes in general language and specialized business language, and other classes related to the profile of the Department, as well as joining in scientific initiatives undertaken by the Department.

When considering applications, preference will be given to candidates whose scientific and research achievements are related to the scientific profile of the Department.

Documented knowledge and skills in certified translations will be an added advantage.

Due to the requirement to teach phonetics and media communication, a documented background in musical education will be an added advantage.

The appointee needs to have at least four years of teaching experience at the university level as well as present a record of conference participation and quality peer-reviewed publications (journals and/or monographs).
