Who are we looking for
The successful candidate must satisfy the requirement of having no criminal record with regard to offences specified in Chapters XIX and XXV of the Polish Penal Code, in Articles 189a and 207 of the Penal Code, as well as under the Act of 29 July 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939), and equivalent offences defined under foreign law.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates applying for the position must meet the following requirements:
• Master’s degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences,
• Clearly defined research plans in the field of geographical sciences, particularly meteorology and climatology,
• Participation in scientific conferences,
• Experience in publishing scientific articles in peer-reviewed/indexed journals,
• Participation in research or educational projects,
• Command of English at communicative level or higher,
• Commitment to taking up employment at the University of Lodz as the primary workplace on a full-time basis.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
The following qualifications and experience will be regarded as additional assets:
• Experience in field research, particularly in micrometeorology,
• Experience in operating meteorological measurement equipment,
• Programming skills (e.g. R package/software),
• Category B driving license.
Scope of teaching and research responsibilities:
• Conducting and participating in scientific research within the themes pursued by the Department of Meteorology and Climatology,
• Obtaining funding for scientific research through research grant applications and project implementation,
• Disseminating research results through publications in scientific journals and monographs,
• Active participation in scientific conferences and seminars,
• Improving professional qualifications in order to obtain further academic degrees and titles,
• Conducting teaching classes as part of the employment relationship, including teaching using distance learning methods and techniques,
• Holding consultations with students,
• Conducting assessments and examinations related to taught courses,
• Preparing teaching materials for conducted classes,
• Timely preparation of all study documentation required from academic teachers, including recording grades in the USOS system,
• Improving professional qualifications related to conducted teaching activities,
• Cooperating with the socio-economic environment in connection with conducted teaching activities,
• Performing other teaching duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
