Who are we looking for

Responsibilities of the assistant position:

1. Conducting scientific research in the history of Poland after 1945.

2. Conducting didactic classes, including those in the tourism specialization.

3. Participating in the organisational life of the Department of Polish and World History after 1945.

Candidates for the post of assistant in the group of research and teaching staff at the Department of Polish and World History after 1945 will assessed according to the following criteria:

1. Master's degree in the humanities, scientific discipline: history.

2. Scientific achievements in the field of the history of Poland after World War II, especially publications in magazines ranked on the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

3. Documented participation in scientific conferences (domestic and foreign).

4. Due to the research profile of the Department and the teaching tasks carried out, we are looking for candidates specializing in the political and social history of Poland after World War II, including the foreign policy of the Polish People's Republic and the Third Polish Republic as well as the history of Lodz and the region, so that the candidate can conduct didactic classes covering the history of Poland after 1945 and topics related to the tourist specialty.

5. Good knowledge of spoken and written English is required so that the future assistant can publish his articles in English-language journals, deliver papers at international conferences and conduct classes for students in this language.

6. Research needs, including the topic of post-war Poland's place in Central and Eastern Europe, also require the candidate to have at least a basic knowledge of German or Russian.

7. Documented teaching experience.

Experience will also be taken into account:

1. Related to obtaining funds for conducting scientific or popularization activities.

2. Resulting from archival research in Poland or abroad.

3. In organizational work.
