Who are we looking for?
Knowledge and Technology Broker
An open-minded, communicative person with a hands-on attitude – someone who builds relationships and turns knowledge into real solutions.
What scope of tasks do we offer?
What will you be doing?
Your mission will be to build bridges – between science and business, ideas and implementation, researchers and real-world market needs. You’ll work closely with academic teams as well as companies, public institutions, and startups.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
identifying research projects with implementation or societal potential,
-
assessing the market potential of technologies and intangible assets,
-
initiating and developing relationships with external partners (companies, foundations, government bodies),
-
actively seeking collaboration opportunities between researchers and external stakeholders,
-
supporting researchers in presenting their ideas (preparing presentations, participating in meetings, pitching),
-
assisting in intellectual property protection and commercialization strategy development,
-
co-organizing matchmaking events, caseLABs, and sectoral meetings,
-
promoting the CTT’s offer and crafting communication targeted at business partners,
-
participating in the implementation of nationally and internationally funded innovation projects,
-
supporting the preparation of offer documents and contracts (licensing, R&D collaborations, NDAs).
What do we require?
What do we expect from you?
You don’t need to be a patent attorney – but it helps if you:
-
are comfortable talking to very different groups of people and genuinely listening to their needs,
-
are curious about innovation and can spot potential where others see “just theory,”
-
know how to work with research teams to develop a value proposition for external partners,
-
have some experience in the world of R&D, EU-funded projects, innovation, B2B sales or marketing, or startups,
-
understand the basics of research commercialization – or are motivated to learn with us,
-
communicate fluently in English (minimum B2),
-
are well-organized and comfortable working with deadlines and tasks,
-
are self-reliant, but not afraid to ask for help or collaborate when needed,
-
are proficient in MS Office tools, including Excel.
Bonus points if you also have:
-
experience working in an R&D, CSR, or innovation department in a company,
-
in-depth knowledge of a specific academic field – the University of Łódź conducts research across many disciplines, and a PhD or research experience in one of them can be a real asset,
-
experience in creating promotional materials, giving presentations, or networking,
-
familiarity with how universities function and models of university–business collaboration,
-
a category B driving license.
What we offer:
-
stable cooperation and compensation that matches your experience,
-
the chance to have real impact on the innovation pipeline at the University of Łódź,
-
the possibility of partial remote work,
-
access to national and international training opportunities,
-
working in an interdisciplinary team with a collaborative culture and high degree of autonomy,
-
support for your professional growth – including career pathways within the university and international projects,
-
access to employee benefits, including co-financing for holidays, healthcare, cultural events, and sports memberships.
