The candidate is expected to have completed his/her PhD in the field of humanities, in literary studies (Classical philology), or must have completed a dissertation that has received at least two positive reviews. Knowledge of both classical languages as well as acquaintance with the ancient Greek and Roman cultures (literature/ art/ philosophy/ religion/ reception) is expected. The candidate will be expected to run Practical Latin and Greek courses and to deliver other classes and lectures related to the Chair’s academic profile. The appointee is also expected to carry out research in line with the Chair’s field of study. The candidate needs to have teaching experience at the university level as well as present a record of conference participation and quality peer-reviewed publications (both journals and monographs).
