DESCRIPTION: The Department of Cancer Biology and Epigenetics will be hiring a bioinformatician to fulfill the research goals of scientific and scientific-commercial projects carried out in the Biobank Lab. The work will involve data analysis of result from sequencing and genotyping of DNA, genetic analyses, analysis of human polymorphisms and their association with a specific phenotype or disease. The employee will be required to write and publish articles in high-scoring journals, writing grant proposal and will be involved in the promotional activities of the Department of Biosciences (educational workshops for children and others).

REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate should meet the following criteria and have:

- Master degree in natural science or related accepted in Poland

- 500 points from publications ≥ 100 points of the Ministry of Education and Science

ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES:

Experience in genomic data analysis,creation of bioinformatics pipelines, experience in management of data bases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key responsibilities will include:

- conducting and participating in scientific research and development work;

- obtaining funds for scientific research by applying in competitions at national or international level;

- dissemination of the results of scientific or development research by publishing the results in the most prestigious scientific journals from the Journal Citation Reports list;

- active participation in conferences and scientific seminars, financed as part of the tasks carried out by the unit or on other principles adopted at the University;

- performing other duties assigned by the direct superior.
