DESCRIPTION:

The candidate will be able to carry out research at the Department of Biology of Bacteria on virulence factors of uropathogenic bacteria of the Proteus genus and to analyze the pathogenesis of diseases caused by these microorganisms, including infectious urolithiasis. The research includes the determination of important pathogenicity factorsinvolved in the disease process, the search for antimicrobial agents, and the characteristics and impact of the natural urinary tract microbiota on the development of urinary tract infections and the formation of urolithiasis. In addition, the employee will conduct teaching classes.

REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate should meet the following criteria and have:

- academic title - master's degree in biology or a related discipline recognized in Poland,

- scientific experience, supported by publications from the JCR database (Philadelphia List), including at least two publications with a minimum of 140 MNiE points (Ministry of Education and Science points) in the above-mentioned scientific specialization,

- experience in teaching classes in the field of bacteriology and general microbiology.

WELCOME:

- knowledge of general microbiology, biochemistry and microbial physiology,

- experience in the study of bacterial virulence factors, with particular emphasis on the study of interactions of bacteria with host cells (adhesion, cytotoxicity) and analysis of enzyme kinetics,

- knowledge of techniques - conducting tissue cultures, staining techniques (microbiological, histochemical, fluorescent), cytotoxicity assessment, confocal microscopy,

- teamwork experience,

- the ability to

raise funds for research,

- good knowledge of

the English language,

- in the case of

foreigners: good knowledge of the Polish language in speech and writing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate is expected to provide:

- fulfilling duties in accordance with the strategy of the University and the

Faculty,

- preparing and conducting teaching classes,

- conducting and participating in scientific research and development work,

- publishing results in the most prestigious scientific journals from the Journal

Citation Reports list,

- implementation of international mobility for research purposes,

- performing functions and performing tasks assigned by superiors.
