DESCRIPTION (subject, expectations, comments):

<span class="y2iqfc">The candidate will be able to carry out basic and application research at the Department of Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology on biodegradation and detoxification of xenobiotics particularly dangerous for the environment, including compounds disrupting the functioning of the endocrine system of humans and animals (EDCs), microbial elimination of heavy metals, characteristics of the proteome and lipidome filamentous fungi involved in the degradation of xenobiotics, assessment of the antimicrobial activity of biologically synthesized nanoparticles. The candidate should demonstrate advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of microbial biotechnology, industrial microbiology, biodegradation of xenobiotic compounds and publication achievements in this field in peer-reviewed journals in the JCR database. She/he should have experience in research and development work as part of research projects as well as theoretical knowledge and experience in the field of:</span>

<span class="y2iqfc">• cultivation of bacteria and filamentous fungi</span>

<span class="y2iqfc">• qualitative and quantitative analysis of biotransformation products</span>

<span class="y2iqfc">• the use of toxicity tests</span>

<span class="y2iqfc">• application of gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry GC/MS and liquid chromatography LC/MS/MS, MALDI TOF/TOF techniques</span>

<span class="y2iqfc">• use of confocal microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).</span>

<span class="y2iqfc">• PCA statistical analysis</span>

The candidate should meet the following criteria and have:

<span class="y2iqfc">• PhD degree in the discipline of biological sciences, obtained not later than two years before the closing date of the competition, recognized in Poland</span>

<span class="y2iqfc">• 300 points from publications>100 MEiN points or patents, including at least one publication >100 MEiN points as the first author or corresponding</span>

<b>The candidate is expected to provide</b><b>:</b> presenting the supervisor's opinion in the doctoral thesis specifying predispositions for research work. Due to the need to conduct didactic classes, the candidate is required to have experience in conducting exercises and laboratory classes in the field of environmental biotechnology, microbiological biotechnology, industrial microbiology, mycology and fluent knowledge of the Polish language. The candidate should also be competent in the preparation of scientific texts, research projects, computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, Corel Draw) and demonstrate a good command of the English language.
