The competition is open to persons who meet the requirements set out in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws 2023, item 742 as amended) and the Statute of the University of Łódź.

Requirements for applicants:

- doctoral degree in social sciences, science and natural sciences, agriculture, engineering or related fields;

- familiarity with the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and GIS software in research work;

- good academic record documented by authorship of papers published in leading scientific journals combined with experience of using GIS in research work;

- experience in speaking at national and international scientific conferences;

- ability to work in an interdisciplinary research team;

- knowledge of English and Polish to the extent necessary to conduct scientific research;

Additional advantage will be:

- Knowledge of Python or Java or Scala supported by the implementation of scientific and engineering projects based on the mentioned programming languages

- Proficiency in the application of machine learning and deep learning techniques in spatial analysis.

- Scientific publications in the field of geography and machine learning

- Achievements and competences in teaching and popularisation, confirmed e.g. by the implementation of teaching activities, participation in events promoting science, etc. Career prospects:
