DESCRIPTION:

Assistant Professor in the research group of the Laboratory of Microscopic Imaging and Specialized Biological Techniques of the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the University of Lodz. The position entails conducting research and providing support to the faculty staff and doctoral students, assisting in the use of laboratory infrastructure, and actively participating in the acquisition and implementation of scientific projects..

REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate should meet the following criteria and have:

- PhD in Biology or related disciplines, recognized in Poland;

- significant publication record - a minimum of 10 articles published in JCR journals with at least 100 points of Ministry of Education and Science (at least 5 publications as first or corresponding author);

- experience in laboratory work, especially molecular biology methods;

- experience in planning and conducting cell cultures;

- willingness to pursue international mobility for research purposes;

- is fluent in Polish and English, both spoken and written;

- documented ability to apply for research funds (min. 1 grant application at the national or international level).

ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES:

- ability to plan, conduct, and analyze experiments based on the use of a scanning laser confocal microscope;

- ability to plan, conduct, and analyze experiments based on the use of a transmission electron microscope;

- experience in preparing animal and plant tissue sections for microscopic analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate for the position will fulfill duties in accordance with the strategy of the University and the Laboratory.

The candidate will conduct and participate in scientific research and development work:

- participating in scientific research and development work;

- supporting the Faculty staff and PhD students of the University of Lodz who use the Laboratory equipment by helping them to use the Laboratory infrastructure;

- performing experiments, analysis of data, preparing manuscripts, publication of the results in the most prestigious scientific journals from the Journal Citation Reports list;

- obtaining funds for scientific research by applying to competitions;

- implementation of international mobility for research purposes;

- organizing promotional and presentation actions for the benefit of the University.
