Candidates for the above position should meet the requirements set out in Articles 113 and 116 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended), as well as the Statute of the University of Lodz.

The candidate must also meet the requirement of having no criminal record for offences specified in Chapters XIX and XXV, Articles 189a and 207 of the Polish Penal Code, as well as in the Act of 29 July 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939), including equivalent offences defined under foreign law.

Proficiency in the Polish language is required.

The candidate is expected to demonstrate knowledge of:

• theories of international finance, corporate finance, and capital markets;
• processes of firms’ internationalisation, including strategies for entering capital markets;
• financial market regulations and supervision of financial institutions;
• mechanisms of corporate governance, company structures, and their importance for the effective functioning and development of enterprises;
• methods of financial analysis, data analysis, financial modelling, and econometric modelling applied in finance research;
• modern analytical tools, financial databases, and digital technologies used in financial market research.

The candidate should have experience in:

• conducting scientific research independently or as part of research teams;
• preparing academic publications in Polish and English;
• presenting research findings at national and international conferences;
• cooperating with foreign academic institutions, building international research networks, and conducting joint research projects;
• analysing financial and stock market data, including the use of databases such as LSEG Workspace, Bloomberg, Orbis, or other specialised data sources;
• integrating financial, economic, and legal perspectives in the analysis of financial market phenomena, including regulatory issues and the functioning of financial institutions.

The candidate should demonstrate:

• at least one published academic article in a journal worth a minimum of 70 points according to the Ministerial journal ranking;
• presentation of a paper at an international conference.

The candidate should possess competencies and skills relevant to teaching and research, including:

• experience in teaching in both Polish and English (mandatory requirement);
• experience in teaching finance, international business, or related subjects;
• ability to prepare teaching materials and apply modern teaching methods;
• strong academic communication skills, experience working with students, and the ability to present complex financial issues in a clear and structured manner;
• experience confirmed by participation in academic conferences, specialised training, international placements, or other forms of professional and academic development.

The candidate is expected to pursue further academic and teaching development in the field of international business and finance, with particular emphasis on:

• conducting research on capital markets, corporate governance, and firm internationalisation;
• expanding research perspectives to interdisciplinary areas combining finance, international business, and financial market regulation;
• building and developing international research cooperation, particularly with renowned foreign academic institutions;
• publishing research results in reputable academic journals and actively participating in national and international conferences;
• active involvement in national and international research projects;
• internationalisation of teaching activities and enhancement of teaching competencies;
• advancing quantitative research methods, data analysis, econometric modelling, and the use of financial and stock market databases.
