DESCRIPTION:

Recruitment to the Department of Biophysics of Environmental Pollution at the University of Lodz as an Professor in the research staff group. The position involves research using the infrastructure available in the Department, as well as active participation in the acquisition and implementation of scientific projects by applying in competitions at national and international level; disseminating the results of scientific or/and development research by publishing the results in the most prestigious scientific journals from the Journal Citation Reports list and realization of international mobility for research purposes.

REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate should meet the following criteria and have:

- the scientific title of professor in Biology or related disciplines, which is recognized in Poland,

- fluency in Polish and English, both spoken and written,

- very good scientific achievements documented by research works published in leading scientific journals from the JCR list (minimum 80 publications); Hirsh index >25 and number of citations >2000 (without self-citations, according to Web of Science) and a significant share of publications as the first or last author,

- experience in managing research teams implementing projects financed through domestic and foreign competitions, including acting as a manager in at least 3 projects awarded in competitions on at least the national level,

- a completed research internship at a foreign scientific institution,

- knowledge and scientific practice in the field of toxicology, toxicological biochemistry, molecular toxicology, epigenetics and current environmental hazards,

- practical knowledge of modern techniques used in molecular biology, including working with online genomic databases,

- proficiency in planning and applying laboratory techniques related to DNA and RNA manipulation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate for the position will fulfill duties in accordance with the strategy of the University
and the Department.

The person employed under this competition will perform functions and perform tasks assigned by superiors and will be responsible for:

- planning and performing experiments, analysis of data, preparing manuscripts, dissemination of the results in the most prestigious scientific journals from the Journal Citation Reports list,

- conducting and participating in scientific research and development work,

- obtaining funds for scientific research by applying in competitions at national or international level,

- implementation of international mobility for research purposes,

- educating scientific staff and taking care of their development,

- organizing promotional and presentation actions for the benefit of the University and participation in them.

- other organizational duties assigned by the direct superior.
