The candidate is required to have general knowledge of Polish and world literature in their artistic and cultural aspects. He/she should also have broad orientation in 20th and 21st-century methodologies in literature and the theory and practice of creative writing.

The candidate should have: The applicant is expected to have a broad orientation in the field of literary research, as well as the relationship between literature and other arts and the contemporary literary and publishing market.

Requirements:

Knowledge of the English language is required to a degree that allows teaching in the field of literary studies and creative writing. The candidate should hold a PhD in literary studies. We expect that the candidate will have scientific experience confirmed by publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference participation, and teaching experience in the above-mentioned areas. Additionally, we expect the candidate to prepare a short description of the proposed two author's courses (as part of optional classes) for creative writing students, indicating the title, course objectives, program scheduled for 14 meetings, expected learning outcomes, teaching methods, along with bibliography (up to 5 basic items).

Duties of the Candidate :

1. in the field of research work – active participation in scientific conferences and systematic publication of author's monographs and scientific articles in publishing houses and scientific journals included in the updated list of scientific journals and publications of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education; activity in the field of obtaining scientific grants; popularization of science

2. in terms of teaching work – conducting classes on undergraduate creative writing studies, and/or undergraduate cultural studies and film studies, and/or master degree contemporary culture and art studies (classes in the field of history/theory of literature and creative work with texts).

3. in the field of organizational work – active involvement in organizational activities for Department of Theory of Literature, Institute of Contemporary Culture and Faculty of Philology of the University of Lodz.

4. The candidate must meet the condition of no criminal record for the crimes specified in Chapter XIX and XXV of the Penal Code, in Article 189a and Article 207 of the Penal Code and in the Act of 29 July 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939) and for the prohibited acts specified in foreign law corresponding to these crimes.
