Who are we looking for

The candidate is expected to have completed his/her PhD in any of the following disciplines: literary studies (English philology) and cultural studies. The appointee needs to have teaching experience at the university level.

The candidate should have:

Requirements: The candidate needs to speak and write in English at the proficiency level and be able to use academic English. The appointee needs to have a record of conference participation and quality peer-reviewed publications (both journals and monographs). The preferred areas of research are: British and Irish drama, film studies, English-language film, Shakespeare studies, performance studies, adaptation studies, or media and communication, especially in their broad cultural and social contexts.

Duties of the candidate :

1) Research: The appointee is expected to carry out research and prepare academic publications in line with the Department’s fields of study.

2) Teaching: The appointee will deliver classes and lectures in British literature and culture, as well as other classes related to the Department’s and Institute’s academic profile. The candidate will be expected to run Practical English courses (integrated skills, writing, speaking).

3) Administrative duties: The appointee is also expected to offer support in organizational matters.

4) The candidate must meet the condition of no criminal record for the crimes specified in Chapter XIX and XXV of the Penal Code, in Article 189a and Article 207 of the Penal Code and in the Act of 29 July 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939) and for the prohibited acts specified in foreign law corresponding to these crimes.

Candidates may be asked to take part in an interview (possibly online) as part of the selection process.
