The candidate should meet all of the following criteria:

• hold a PhD degree in the discipline of cultural and religious studies, or be a graduate of a Doctoral School with a planned PhD dissertation defence by March 2026;
• specialize in cultural studies in the context of press journalism and the evolution of audio communication forms;
• have research experience demonstrated by publications, active participation in academic conferences, and research visits to foreign institutions;
• have experience in preparing grant applications;
• have experience in teaching at the tertiary education level in the field of press journalism (traditional and digital), new media communication, and creative writing;
• be able to use digital teaching tools (especially remote learning platforms like Moodle and Teams);
• use English at a level that allows conducting classes, participating in international conferences and projects, and publishing in foreign journals and publishing houses.

Duties of the candidate:

• research work – active participation in national and international academic conferences, regular publication of monographs and articles in academic journals and publishing houses included in the current list of academic journals and publishers of the Ministry of Education and Science (Poland); systematic participation in competition and grant procedures in the field of science;
• teaching – delivery of classes, including specialist courses provided for in the curriculum of the dziennikarstwo, media i projektowanie komunikacji / journalism, media and communication design programme (subject areas: press journalism and its digital forms, investigative journalism, news journalism, interactive communication, persuasion and manipulation in communication);
• organisational activities – undertaking actions supporting the functioning of the Department and promoting its programmes (e.g., preparing documentation, organising academic conferences, guest lectures, and workshops for students), supporting student initiatives, and contributing to activities aimed at ensuring the societal and economic impact of the Department’s research output;
• readiness to fulfil teaching and organisational duties in the place of work (Lodz, Faculty of Philology) in accordance with current needs.

The candidate must meet the requirement of having no criminal record in respect of offences specified in Chapters XIX and XXV of the Polish Penal Code, in Articles 189a and 207 of the Polish Penal Code, in the Act of 29 July 2005 on counteracting drug addiction (Dz.U. 2023 poz. 1939), as well as in equivalent acts defined under foreign regulations and laws.
