• DESCRIPTION (scope, expectations, notes):
• The candidate will have the opportunity to carry out basic and applied research at the Department of Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology related to: biodegradation and detoxification of xenobiotics particularly hazardous to the environment, including endocrine-disrupting compounds (EDCs), microbiological elimination of heavy metals, characterization of metabolites produced by filamentous fungi, microbial synthesis of nanoparticles, and the biological activity of postbiotics.
• The candidate should demonstrate advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in environmental microbiology and industrial microbiology, as well as a record of scientific publications in this field in peer-reviewed journals indexed in the JCR database.
• The candidate should have experience in research and development activities (including participation in research projects) and theoretical knowledge and practical experience in:
• culturing bacteria and filamentous fungi,
  
• applying toxicity tests,
  
• ecology and taxonomy of fungi, including methods for fungal isolation and genetic identification,
  
• applying microscopy techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
  

• fulfilling duties in accordance with the University and Faculty strategy,
• preparing and conducting teaching classes,
  
• conducting and participating in research and development work,
• implementing international mobility for research purposes,
• performing functions and tasks assigned by superiors,
• disseminating research or development results by publishing them in scientific journals from the Journal Citation Reports list,
  
• improving one's professional qualifications, including for the purpose of obtaining further academic degrees and titles,
  
• acquiring funds for research by applying in national and international competitions.

The candidate must meet the following criteria and have:

• A master’s degree in biotechnology, microbiology, or biology, obtained no later than ten years before the closing date of the call for applications, and recognized in Poland,
  
• A minimum of 200 points from publications or patents >100 points from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW).

Due to the requirement to conduct teaching activities, the candidate must have experience in conducting classes, laboratory sessions, and field courses in the areas of environmental microbiology and industrial microbiology, as well as fluency in the Polish language.

The candidate should also have competencies in preparing scientific texts and research project proposals, computer skills (including proficiency in MS Office), and demonstrate a good command of English.
