Description:

The candidate for the above-mentioned position should meet the requirements of Articles 113, 116 of the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on higher education and science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742)

An applicant should meet the following requirements:

• 1.Completed PhD studies with being awarded a doctoral degree in the field of social studies in the discipline of political science (currently political and administration science);

 

• 2.Worked as an academic teacher for at least 9 years, including at least 5 years as a lecturer or assistant professor;

 

• 3.The academic interests of a candidate should focus on the issues of East Asia with particular emphasis on Japan;

 

• 4.High scientific activity, including publications concerning international relations in East Asia and Japan, the policy of counties in the region and theory of international relations, documented participation in national and international conferences, ability to obtain funds for research and projects, participation in research grants;

 

• 5.Ability and documented achievements in translating original texts (one of the Asian languages) into Polish or another European language;

 

• 6.Organizational experience in the area of different types of academic activities, work with students, popularization of knowledge about contemporary international relations;

 

• 7.Experience in conducting didactic classes in the area of Asian studies and international relations on university level, knowledge of the latest teaching methods and techniques, including remote teaching (e-learning) or organization of didactic workshops;

 

• 8.Knowledge of one of oriental languages on communicative level as well as good command of Polish language and English language allowing a candidate to conduct classes in both languages is required;

 

• 9.Have the ability to work in a team.

An additional advantage will be if the candidate:

• has an experience in popularisation of science activities.

 

• knows the specific of East Asia, has travelled around the region, can organize scientific expeditions with students

Responsibilities of a senior lecturer include, among others:

1.Conscientious and careful performance of the entrusted tasks and following the instructions of superiors,

2.Compliance with applicable laws, including in particular the provisions of the Act of 20 July 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742);

3.Conducting didactic classes carried out under the employment contract, conducting exams and credits, preparing didactic materials for classes, consulting with students.

4.Performing functions entrusted by superiors; the role of a supervisor of a student group, scientific circle, etc., work in faculty bodies and other forms of academic activity.
