DESCRIPTION: A candidate has to meet the requirements of article 113 and article 116 of the Act of 20 July 2018 ‒ Law on Higher Education and Science (The Official Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668, with amendments) and the Statute of the University of Lodz, taking into account article 246 section 5 of the Act of 3 July 2018 – Regulations introducing the Act Law on Higher Education and Science
(The Official Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1669).
The candidate should meet the following criteria:
1. Have a Ph.D. degree in biological or closely related sciences which is recognized in Poland.
2. Have significant achievements in the form of minimum 100 papers on fish biology and fish ecology published in journals from the JCR list.
3. Demonstrate conducting research in at least three countries.
4. Demonstrate leadership or coordination of international grants.
5. Present a plan for ambitious research at the University of Lodz.
The candidate is expected to apply for research grants in national or international competitions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• conducting scientific research;
• obtaining funds for scientific research by applying in national or international competitions;
• publishing results in the most prestigious scientific journals from the Journal Citation Reports list;
• improving professional qualifications, including for the purpose of obtaining the degree of habilitated doctor;
• implementation of international mobility for research purposes;
• showing initiative in organizing and improving the own and the team/unit work;
• performing functions and tasks assigned by superiors.
Department of Ecology and Vertebrate Zoology at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, University of Lodz has a mix of national and international researchers and conducts scientific research in various fields, with particularly strong background in freshwater ecology.
