DESCRIPTION (topic, targets, expectations):
The candidate should meet all of the following criteria:
-Have master’s degree in law or an equivalent degree accepted in Poland;
-Specialize in the field of substantive criminal law and medical law;
-Have proven scientific experience confirmed by publications in Polish and English in punctuated scientific journals or scientific monographs;
-Have proven experience in the carrying out of scientific projects;
-have confirmed active participation in national and international conferences;
-have the skill to work in a team, including in organizing scientific conferences;
-have a proven record of organizational activities for the university;
-have general knowledge of conducting scientific research;
-have experience in teaching or co-teaching students;
-have experience in mentoring students;
-know Polish language fluently, both spoken and written;
-be fluent in English, especially legal english (language proficiency certified by document);
-have advanced preparation of a dissertation in substantive criminal law;
-welcome awards for organizational and scientific activities or an awarded scholarship from the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding scientific achievements, completion of postgraduate studies.
Responsibilities of the position occupied
The duty is to conscientiously and carefully perform the assigned tasks and comply with the instructions of superiors that relate to work, if they are not contrary to the law. In particular, an academic teacher is obliged to:
-comply with the applicable laws, including in particular the provisions of the Law of July 20, 2018. The Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742);
-comply with the applicable internal laws of the UŁ, including, in particular, those contained in the UŁ Labor Regulations and the UŁ Employee Salary Regulations;
-comply with the applicable rules of occupational safety and health, as well as fire safety regulations;
-take care of the employer's welfare, protect the employer's property, and keep secret information the disclosure of which could expose the employer to harm;
immediately notify superiors of any accident or danger to human life or health noticed at the University.
The scope of tasks in the area of teaching duties:
-teaching classes carried out within the framework of the employment relationship on an annual basis, as determined by the Senate in full-time, part-time and post-graduate studies, including teaching by methods and techniques of distance learning;
-timely preparation of the documentation of the course of study applicable to academic teachers;
-participation in the development and updating of educational programs and teaching plans;
-conducting passes for conducted classes;;
-supervising students' term and final course work;
-developing teaching materials for conducted classes;
-conducting consultations with students;
-raising own professional qualifications in the field of teaching;
-taking attention to the high quality of education and compliance of teaching work with the principles of the internal educational quality assurance system;
-conducting consultations with students, amounting to at least 2 hours per week;
-carrying out other teaching duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Tasks in the area of research responsibilities:
-conducting and participating in scientific research and development work;
-obtaining funds for scientific research by applying in competitions;
-disseminating the results of scientific research or development by publishing the results;
-active participation in scientific conferences and seminars, financed within the framework of the tasks carried out by the unit or under other rules adopted at the University;
-participation in the commercialization of research results (patents, protective rights, implementations);
-improving one's own professional qualifications, including with a view to obtaining further degrees and academic titles.
Tasks in the area of organizational responsibilities:
-work in the collegiate bodies of the University and in departmental, senate and rectoral committees;
-working in recruitment committees and examination committees in the university recruitment process;
-organizing and participating in promotional and presentation actions for the University;
-participating in the organization of conferences, symposia, seminars and other academic activities;
-performing functions assigned by superiors, including supervision of students' professional practice;
-other organizational activities to improve the functioning of the university, improve the quality of education and research;
-other organizational duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
