Candidate requirements:

1. A postdoctoral degree in the social sciences, in the discipline of pedagogy.
2. Specific research plans in the field of educational research methods or methodology.

3. Research interests in the field of methodology of social sciences.

4. Documented experience in publishing peer-reviewed monographs or articles in scientific journals.

5. Confirmed participation in scientific conferences.

6. Research experience in the field of social sciences.

7. Proficiency in English at a communicative level or higher.

8. Commitment to full-time employment at the University of Lodz as the primary place of employment.

9. Fluency in Polish, both spoken and written, required for teaching.

10. The candidate must meet the condition of no criminal record for the offences specified in Chapters XIX and XXV of the Criminal Code, in Articles 189a and 207 of the Criminal Code, and in the Act of 29 July 2005 on counteracting drug addiction 2 (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939) and for the criminal offences corresponding to these offences specified in the provisions of foreign law. SCOPE OF DUTIES

The employee shall diligently and conscientiously perform the assigned tasks and follow the instructions of supervisors concerning work, provided that such instructions are not contrary to the law.

Teaching responsibilities:
1. Conducting teaching classes within the annual teaching load determined by the Senate for full-time and part-time studies, including classes delivered using distance learning methods and techniques.
2. Conducting classes exceeding the annual teaching load, if necessary.
3. Conducting examinations and assessments related to the classes taught.
4. Timely preparation of all academic documentation required from academic staff, including recording grades in the USOS system.
5. Participating in the preparation and updating of curricula and teaching schedules, as well as updating the content of taught courses.
6. Supervising students’ coursework and semester assignments.
7. Supervising and reviewing diploma theses.
8. Preparing teaching materials for classes.
9. Preparing and conducting classes in a foreign language.
10. Improving professional qualifications related to the taught subjects.
11. Maintaining high teaching quality and ensuring compliance with the internal quality assurance system.
12. Holding consultations with students for at least two hours per week.
13. Cooperating with the socio-economic environment in connection with the conducted classes.
14. Performing other teaching duties assigned by the direct supervisor.

Research responsibilities:
1. Conducting and participating in scientific research and development work.
2. Obtaining research funding through applications submitted in competitive calls.
3. Undertaking activities aimed at acquiring research funding through grant applications.
4. Disseminating research results through publications in scientific journals and monographs.
5. Actively participating in conferences and academic seminars.
6. Establishing cooperation with foreign research centers.
7. Cooperating with national research centers.
8. Educating academic staff and supporting their professional development.
9. Improving professional qualifications, including activities aimed at obtaining the academic title of professor.

Organizational responsibilities:
1. Serving on collegiate bodies of the University and on faculty, senate, and rector’s committees.
2. Participating in admissions committees during student recruitment processes.
3. Organizing and participating in promotional and presentation activities for the University.
4. Participating in the organization of conferences, symposia, seminars, and other forms of academic activity.
5. Performing functions assigned by supervisors, including supervision of students’ professional placements.
6. Undertaking other organizational activities aimed at improving the functioning of the University and enhancing the quality of education and scientific research.
7. Performing other organizational duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
