Requirements for candidates are as follows:
1. Hold an M.A. degree in the field of social sciences,
2. Demonstrate academic interests in in the field of social rehabilitation pedagogy,
3. Have clearly defined research plans relating to issues within the scope of social rehabilitation pedagogy,
4. Demonstrate proficiency in English at least a communicative level,
5. Committed to work fulltime at the University of Lodz as their primary place of employment,
6. Demonstrate fluency in written and spoken Polish, due to the requirement to conduct teaching in this language.
Additional advantages will include:
1. A M.A. in the field of pedagogy,
2. Academic publications in the field of social rehabilitation pedagogy,
3. Experience related to participation in research or educational projects, particularly international ones,
4. Experience in collaborating with the social environment, particularly with organizations involved in social and resocialization work,
5. Proficiency in a second foreign language.
The candidate must meet the condition of no criminal record for the offences specified in Chapters XIX and XXV of the Penal Code, Article 189a and Article 207 of the Penal Code and the Act of 29 July 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939) and for the prohibited acts corresponding to these offences specified in the provisions of foreign law.
Responsibilities in the position:
in the area of teaching responsibilities in the position held :
1. conducting teaching activities carried out as part of the employment relationship on an annual basis, as determined by the Senate, in full-time, part-time and postgraduate studies, including conducting teaching activities using distance learning methods and techniques;
2. conducting teaching activities exceeding the annual number of hours (treated as overtime hours), if necessary;
3. conducting assessments of classes taught;
4. timely preparation of documentation on the course of study required of academic teachers, including documenting credits in the USOS system;
5. participating in the development and updating of education programmes and teaching plans;
6. supervising students' final and semester projects;
7. developing teaching materials for classes;
8. preparing classes in a foreign language;
9. improving one's professional qualifications in the field of teaching;
10. ensuring high quality of education and compliance of teaching work with the principles of the internal quality assurance system;
11. conducting consultations with students for at least 2 hours (clock hours) per week;
12. conducting cooperation with the socio-economic environment in connection with the conducted classes;
13. performing other teaching duties assigned by the immediate superior.
in the area of research responsibilities in the position held :
1. conducting and participating in scientific research and development work;
2. actively seeking and obtaining research funding through competitive grant competitions;
3. disseminating the results of scientific research by publishing them in scientific journals and monographs, where the number and type of publications must be sufficient to obtain a positive employee assessment, the principles of which are specified in Resolution No. 29 of the Senate of the University of Lodz dated 12.12.2016 and the Council of the Faculty of Educational Sciences dated 18.05.2017, and Order No. 54 of the Rector of the University of Lodz dated 19.12.2019;
4. active participation in scientific conferences and seminars financed as part of the tasks carried out by the unit;
5. participating in the commercialisation of research results (patents, protection rights, implementations);
6. establishing collaborations with foreign research centers;
7. collaboration with domestic research centers;
8. improving one's professional qualifications, including for the purpose of obtaining further academic degrees and titles.
in the area of organisational responsibilities in the position held :
1. working in recruitment and examination committees in the student recruitment process;
2. organising and participating in promotional and presentation activities for the University;
3. participation in the organisation of conferences, symposia, seminars and other forms of academic activity;
4. performing duties assigned by superiors, including supervising student internships;
5. other organisational duties assigned by the immediate superior.
