Who are we looking for?

The employed persons will become members of the research team for the project ‘Biography and Academic Imaginarium. Polish Intellectual Diaspora in the Autobiographies of Migrant Scholars’ (funded by the National Science Centre (NCN) SONATA BIS No. 13, agreement No. UMO-2023/50/E/HS6/00189), carrying out primarily research and organisational tasks. Scope of work:

1) conducting at least 24 narrative autobiographical interviews using a method by Fritz Schütze,

2) participating in regular team seminars – at least once a week (online and/or on-site),

3) completing other tasks assigned by the project leader or post-doc.

Scholarship Recipient (2 positions)

Student: Scholarship Agreement

NCN Competition Type: SONATA BIS - HS – humanities, social sciences and arts;

Scholarship Information: 2,000 PLN per month, paid for up to 12 months (October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2027) with the possibility of extension.


  Requirements:

- status of a master’s student in sociology,

- experience in conducting autobiographical narrative interviews,

- willingness to write a master’s thesis on a topic related to the project,

- a deep interest in migration studies, biographical research, or the sociology of higher education,

- excellent knowledge of Polish and good knowledge of English,

- academic and organizational activity (participation in academic conferences and co-organizing them),

- a high level of personal culture.

Interviews: September 21, 2026

Announcement of results: until September 28, 2026

Start date: October 1, 2026

What do we require?

Required documents:


1) resume (CV) detailing the applicant’s academic achievements to date, including publications in reputable academic journals and publications, achievements resulting from conducting research, scholarships, awards, and research experience gained in Poland and abroad; participation in workshops, training sessions, and research projects; as well as competencies and qualifications relevant to carrying out the tasks outlined in the project; and knowledge of English,


2) cover letter in Polish explaining why you are interested in participating in the project and describing your skills and experience relevant to achieving its objectives,

3) certificate confirming your status as a master’s student in sociology,

4) statement: “I consent to the processing of my personal data for the purposes necessary to carry out the recruitment process (in accordance with the Data Protection Act of August 29, 1997, Journal of Laws No. 133, Item 883).
