Requirements:

  - Master's degree in physics or astronomy

- At the beginning of the scholarship in November 2025, the candidate should have the status of a PhD student in the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences of the University of Łódź
- A solid background in relativistic astrophysics

- Excellent skills in numerical programming

- Experience in academic research

- Knowledge of the ebhlight or koral codes is an advantage

Position title:  PhD student scholarship

Responsibilities:

The PhD student will perform simulation of accretion onto black holes with GRMHD codes (ebhlight and/or koral), implement modifications in these codes necessary for self-consistent treatment of the energy balance of electrons, and analyze the results. The research is part of the MAESTRO 2023/50/A/ST9/00527 project "Dynamics of processes around compact stars".
